As I drifted off to sleep that night, I couldn't help but wonder what "Buzz" was doing. Those light blue eyes and big handsome grin were etched in my mind. I finally fell asleep, wondering why I had been so stand-offish. Oh well, too late now.
Around 6 or 7 I heard my 2 girlfriends come in, I just rolled over and fell back asleep for a couple more hours. When I woke they were passed out cold. I decided to go get breakfast by myself. Walking through the casino on my way to the coffee shop, I passed the table where I had been talking with R. I hoped that maybe I would run into him before we had to check out at noon. After breakfast I sat and read the paper by the pool, then decided it was time to wake the girls so we could head home.
When I woke them, my good friend said,"That big guy R came down with this note for you after you came up to the room." I must have had the biggest grin on my face at that moment! Shocked and thrilled I read the note.
It read something like this:
It was great meeting you last night. Give me a call in room ...tonight if you are still in town, I will take you girls to dinner. R
It also contained his email address. Sadly we were leaving in a few hours...so I wouldn't get to call him for that dinner.
When I got home, my roommate had said some guy from Vegas had called me?? Oh yea, I forgot, we went to a male stripper show and one of the guys wouldn't leave me alone afterward so I gave him my number...He was cute, but I really wasn't interested. I didn't even bother calling him.
A few days after being home I decided it was time to email R. It was short, sweet, and to the point. It read something along the lines of:
Hey its me, T from Las Vegas. I hope you made it home safely and life is treating you well. Keep in touch.
We exchanged emails through the month of September- early October. Nothing really too intense in the emails..just getting to know you kind of stuff. Eventually he asked me to come out for a visit (It's a 5 hour drive or a 1 hour flight)Panic struck!! Between my daughters and trying to get David (the psycho cop) ex-boyfriend out of my life..attempted to slow things down. He would write and I wouldn't write him back right away. Boy did that plan backfire!
One night I got online and noticed him on my buddy list. I was exhausted, and didn't really feeling like chatting..so I signed off without saying anything. The next morning at work I checked my email. There sat an incredibly rude note from R.
